Garvellachs

A group of three islands to the northwest of the gulf which have links to St Columba. The most northerly Dun Chonuill has the remains of a13th century fort, the island was also used as a signalling point for warning of viking invasions.

The middle island Garbh Eilach has interesting geological formations.

The furthest south Eilach an Naoimh has old beehive cells and is where St Columba's wife is believed to be buried. It is possible to land there with one of the boat operators.
